Chapter-Level DEIAB Activity Opportunity

GRSS strives to broaden diversity at all levels of society, including but not limited to race, colour, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, marital status, disability, age, and parental status. GRSS promotes equity, inclusiveness, accessibility, and a sense of belonging in the services and resources it provides to its members.

GRSS develops and executes a Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIAB) strategic plan that commits to making measurable progress on diversity based on defined performance criteria and an established timeline. It creates a roadmap to foster institutional change, remove barriers, and champion initiatives that promote a society where all feel included, valued, respected, and engaged. As a new initiative, we aim to promote DEIAB at the local level. To sign up for this initiative, please fill out the following form forms.gle/gUYSu8wbeBcvxzrw6 . This initiative seeks to better serve all members globally by understanding the demographic variations within their chapters (E.g. Investing in accessible technologies, such as screen readers, and mentorship programs for underrepresented groups). We are open to new ideas that address your local dynamics and plan to provide funding of up to $600 per chapter. However, if your project requires additional funding, please indicate this for further consideration. We will request a detailed budget for your initiative along with the annual budget proposals. Additionally, by the end of October 2025, we would like to receive feedback from the GRSS community based on the initiatives undertaken.
